Car Factory Director is a car company simulator where you run everything: what to build, how to build it, what to charge and where to sell it. You start with a rented workshop and one hatchback. With good decisions, you end up running a global group with plants abroad and a rival or two bought out along the way.
Your whole company
| Part of the business | What you decide |
|---|---|
| Design | Which segment to enter, how much to spend on design and engineering, when to facelift |
| Factory | Station upgrades, shifts, line speed, service windows, new lines and plants |
| Supply | Suppliers for five part families, stock levels, your own press and engine plant |
| Sales | Prices, clearance deals, dealers, fleet contracts and marketing |
| World | Which of 14 markets to enter, import duty, where to build plants |
| People | Six departments, pay and training, managers, executives and the union |
| Finance | Bank loans, studio finance and tax |
| Research | 19 technologies, including hybrid drive |
Design your own cars
Fund a new car in any of nine segments: city car, hatchback, saloon, estate, SUV, pickup, van, sports car or luxury. Choose your design and engineering budgets, then run a clinic and prototypes if you want a better idea of what you've really got. Then wait for the reviews.
Every model ages from launch day, so you're always planning the next one. Facelift it, or replace it. You don't tune engines part by part here: this is a game about running a car company, not engineering one. If you want to design engines in detail, try Car Company Tycoon, which is on our best car tycoon games list.

Take on the big carmakers
Four established carmakers are ahead of you when you start, and new start-ups spring up along the way. Their cars get better with every generation, and you sell against them in every market. Climb the league at home, and once you're International, buy a rival outright: you get its cars, its works and its dealers.

Three places to start
| Home | Difficulty | What it's like |
|---|---|---|
| Michigan | Easy | A huge home market, with plenty of buyers from day one |
| Coventry | Medium | A small home market, with more dealers at the start |
| Pune | Hard | Low wages and low prices, with buyers who want city cars and hatchbacks |
Five tiers to the top
| Tier | Brand score | Cars sold last month | Total sold | Your own models |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Workshop | Where you start | – | – | – |
| Carmaker | 35 | 260 | 2,000 | – |
| Marque | 42 | 600 | 15,000 | 1 |
| International | 55 | 1,200 | 60,000 | 3 |
| Global Group | 65 | 3,000 | 250,000 | 5 |
Climbing the tiers opens new segments, markets, loans and upgrades.
Every call has a cost
A supplier's bracket cracks. The union calls a strike ballot. A recall looms. Events stop the clock and ask you to decide: pay now, or take the risk. There's no game over, but if you end two months deep in the red, the bank will make you choose between a rescue loan, selling equipment or selling a stake in the company.
No ads, no in-app purchases, plays offline
Car Factory Director costs $1.99 in the US, once, and needs an iPhone with iOS 26 or later. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no account, and it never needs the internet. You can run several companies at once, each with its own save. It runs in real time while you play and stops when you close it, so nothing goes wrong while you're away.
