Car Factory Director puts you in charge of a real assembly line. You don't just tap to collect cars: you decide where to spend the next upgrade, when to add a shift, which supplier to trust and how hard to push the line before quality slips. There are no ads and no in-app purchases, and it plays offline.
Run the assembly line
Every car passes through five stations, and you can watch them work on a live factory floor.
| Station | What to know |
|---|---|
| Press | You start without one. Build it to make your own stampings for far less. |
| Body | Slow at first, and soon a bottleneck. |
| Paint | The slowest station when you start. |
| Assembly | Needs the biggest crew. |
| Test | Catches defects before they reach customers. Upgrade it to catch more. |
The line builds at the pace of its slowest station. Upgrade it and another takes over, so you're always looking for the next bottleneck. Our guide to running the line has the rates and costs.

Every shortcut has a price
- Speed up the line to 120%, and defects and wear rise with the square of the speed.
- Add a shift and you double your hours, but you pay for a new crew, and nights wear the machines faster.
- Skip the service and worn stations slow down, then break down.
- Choose the cheap supplier and you save on parts, until the deliveries come late and the defects climb.
- Let a part run out, or let the yard fill with unsold cars, and the line stops dead.
Defects that get past Test cost warranty money and reputation, and let quality slide far enough and you face a recall.
Then grow the factory
You start with a rented workshop, one hatchback built by hand and $2 million. From there:
- Build your own parts, with a Press and later an Engine plant.
- Design new cars, from city cars to pickups, vans, sports cars and luxury. There are nine segments in all.
- Add a second line, then more plants, at home and abroad.
- Sell in 14 markets, from the United States and Germany to Japan, Brazil and the Nordics.
- Climb five tiers, from Workshop to Carmaker, Marque, International and Global Group.

It runs in real time while you play, with pause, 2× and 4× speed, and it stops when you close it. There is no idle progress, so nothing goes wrong while you're away. It isn't on Android.
Is it an idle game?
No. Many car factory games on the App Store are idle games, where you tap to upgrade and earnings build up while you're away, usually with ads. Car Factory Director is a management game: nothing runs without you, and the decisions are yours. If you'd like to compare, see our list of the best car tycoon games.
Frequently asked
What's the best way to start? Upgrade Paint first, check you have enough buyers, then build a Press. The beginner's guide walks you through it.
How long does a game last? It's open-ended. A game month takes about eight minutes at normal speed and two at 4×, and the climb to Global Group takes many years of game time.
